The honest answer
There isn't one D3 UTR.
Division III includes hundreds of men's and women's tennis programs. A player with a 7.5 UTR could start for one program and struggle to make the lineup at another.
That's why there isn't a single number that tells you whether you're "good enough" for D3.

Why There Isn't One Answer
Five factors move the target more than any published range:
- Conference strength. Some Division III conferences are nationally competitive, while others are more regional. The same UTR may be a great fit at one school and not another.
- Academic selectivity. At academic-first D3s, admissions gates the roster — grades and testing matter as much as UTR.
- Geography. Some programs recruit nationally, while others primarily recruit within their region.
- International recruiting. Elite D3 rosters increasingly include international players, raising the lineup UTR at the top of the division.
- Lineup needs. A program losing three seniors recruits differently than one returning a full roster. Timing changes the answer.
UTR is one piece of the recruiting puzzle — not the whole picture.

Ask:
"Which D3 colleges best fit my player's UTR, academics, intended major, geography, and goals?"
